Mitigation Works: Erosion Quotes


FEMAIn June 2000, the Federal Emergency Management Agency released the “Evaluation of Erosion Hazards” study, prepared by the H. John Heinz Center for Science, Economics and the Environment. One of the reports most sobering finds is that within the next 60 years, approximately one out of every four homes located within 5000 feet of the coast (excluding those located in most urban centers) will fall victim to the effects of erosion.
